Wearing Love is not just an apparel line. It is a project that shares stories of people living out love in a culture of war. Birthed out of Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly love, our mission is to collect and share stories that transform hearts and inspire reconciliation among friends, family, and neighbors.
My name is Joy Ike, the girl behind Wearing Love. For the last 20 years I've lived as a singer/songwriter, musician, and storyteller. But as it turns out, telling other people's stories is far more interesting! This site is full of them!
I believe that a story can change everything. Often in our culture, the best story gets the most attention...even if it's not true. And usually the more contentious it is, the more attention it garners. But a true, compelling, redemptive story can shift so much more than someone's attention - it can shift atmospheres, spur on generative ideas, and heal relationships. A story shoots straight for the heart; and we want Wearing Love to be centered around telling these kinds of stories. So...
